VANAMAHOTSAVA DAY CELEBRATION

Vanamahotsava day was celebrated on July 3rd 2024, at P.A college of Pharmacy premises. Chief guests invited for the day was Dr. Smitha Hegde, Professor and Deputy Director, Nitte Deemed to be University and AGM PAET, Mr. Sharfuddin P.K, Guests of honor invited was Dr. Shaista Omar, Principal MMJG College of Pharmacy, Haveri.

Programme was started in the remembrance and blessings of Almighty Allah by the verses of the Quran by 4th year B. Pharm student Sahil Ismail. M.C was given by Mrs. Shravya, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics, followed by the welcome speech given by Dr. Rajisha, Department of Pharmacognosy, with a sapling, the principal welcomed the chief guest Dr. Smitha Hegde and Guest of honor Dr. Shaista Omer, Dr. Aysha Soureen A.N welcomed, Mr. Sharfuddin P K, AGM Campus.

Mrs. Shravya was the master of ceremony and she introduced both chief guest Dr. Smitha Hedge and guest of honor Dr. Shaista Omer along with their achievements. Chief guests was requested to give a talk on the occasion of VANAMAHOTSAVA DAY. A brief talk was given on the topic “RESTORING LANDS, COMBATTING DESERTIFICATION AND BUILDING DROUGHT RESILIENCE”. Talk included topics like 

·        Eight dimensions of wellness, carbon eaters and sulphur eaters,

·        Responsible of methane for global warming

·        Carbon dioxide emission through time (1950-2022)

·        Economy and biosphere relationship

·        Causes of soil pollution

·        Desertification statistics

·        Global call to restore land and save soil

The chief guest Dr. Smitha Hedge and guest of honor Dr. Shaista Omer were felicitated with a memento as a token of appreciation by Principal, Dr. SALEEMULLAH Khan and AGM, Mr. SHARFUDDIN P.K.

Programme was ended by vote of thanks given by president, Student Council, Ms. Sahadiya and planting of few medicinal plants was done by Dr. Smitha Hegde, Dr. Shaista Omer, Mr. Sharfuddin P K, AGM PAET, Dr. Saleemulla Khan, Principal PACP, Dr. Rajisha, Mrs. Naheeda, Ms. Prathika, Mrs. Shravya, Dr. Soureen, Dr. Megha along with students.

Van Mahotsav day celebration left a message of growing plants and its importance in coping global warming and reforestation.
