Pharmacist Day

P. A College of Pharmacy in association with Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) celebrated the "World Pharmacist Day” on 24th September 2024 with the theme of " Pharmacists: Meeting Global Health Needs”. The event was graced by the Honourable Chief Guest Dr. Srinivas Mutalik, Principal of Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences along with our Prinicipal, Dr. Saleemulla Khan and the HODs of various departments.

The event was hosted by Ms. Ashiya Najfath, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics. The program began with prayer by Mr. Mohammed Sahil Ismail from 4th B Pharm. The welcome speech was delivered by Dr. Mohammed Mubeen, Head of Chemistry Department.

Dr. Srinivas Mutalik addressed the audience providing insights on the essential role the Pharmacist play in the community and also in the global scale. He also stressed regarding the evolving responsibilities and profound impact that Pharmacist have in shaping the Global Health outcomes.

During this event, the dignitaries on the dais released our college Newsletter called "Apotheca- 2024”. It was followed by the prize distribution for the various competitions held on behalf of 4th National Pharmacovigilance week 2024. Moreover, we continued the program by felicitating our Chief Guest, Dr. Mutalik for his invaluable contributions to the Pharmaceutical sciences.

Mrs. Shravya, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics pledged the Pharmacist Oath, as a powerful reminder of the responsibilities we hold as Pharmacists. Later on, our Principal Dr. Saleemulla Khan gave the Presidential address by highlighting the role of Pharmacist in the community and also explained the importance of ADR reporting.

The formal program was concluded with the vote of thanks which was conveyed by Dr. Rajisha K, Associate Professor, Department Of Pharmacognosy followed by the National Anthem at the end.

As a part of World Pharmacist Day,  P. A College of Pharmacy donated a wheelchair with commode and handed fruit basket to "Taspasya Foundation”, a cancer palliative care centre, Mangalore. Along with this, the faculties and students also visited Paschim Rehabilitation Centre situated at Uchilla, were they conducted a medical check-up like Blood grouping, Blood sugar tests, BP, BMI etc of all the inmates. They were also provided with the lunch, fruits and spent quality time with inmates.
