Empowering Women, Inspiring Generations: International Women’s Day Celebrations at P.A.College of Pharmacy, Mangalore

The International Women’s Day celebration at P.A. College of Pharmacy on 12th March 2025 was a grand success, honoring the achievements of women in academia and beyond. The event was presided over by Dr. Saleemulla Khan (Principal, PACP, Mangaluru) and graced by Chief Guest Dr. Marina Koland (Principal, NGSMIPS, Nitte University), along with distinguished invitees.

The program commenced with a prayer by Hiba, followed by a welcome speech by Neha Suvarna and a brief introduction to Women's Day by Naheema. Amnaz and Sahana efficiently managed the event as Masters of Ceremony. One of the highlights was the felicitation of accomplished women faculty members, including: Dr. Asia Hazareena, Associate Professor, Department of Electronics & Communication, PACE, Ms. Vanishree, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce & Management, PAFGC, Mrs. Shama Hakeem, Assistant Professor, CMSR, PACE, Dr. Shruthi Sathyan P, Assistant Professor, PAIP. These faculty members were recognized for their exceptional contributions to academics. The Chief Guest, Dr. Marina Koland, was also honored for her leadership and contributions to pharmacy education. In her address, Dr. Marina Koland emphasized the significance of women’s contributions in academia, encouraged leadership aspirations, and stressed the need for gender equality. Dr. Saleemulla Khan, in his presidential address, appreciated the dedication of women faculty members, recognized their impact on education, and encouraged students to strive for excellence in both academics and extracurricular activities.

To engage students, quiz, debate, and essay competitions were conducted, with prizes distributed to winners. The event also saw the participation of Dr. Sayyad Ameen (Dean, Student Affairs, PAET, Mangaluru) and Dr. Muhammad Mubeen (Professor & Head, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, PACP). The program concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Afsina.
